Their permaculture project aims to demonstrate the value of integrating conservation woodland management techniques with organic growing, traditional skills and crafts and low-impact sustainable living. In August 2002, they received 5 year temporary planning permission to continue their experimental project, which was renewed (after appeals) in June 2009.
