Episode 26: Snowed In

Climate change is bringing more snow to Wales, but the lammas residents enjoy their enforced hiberantion.

Snow at Lammas ecovillage causes enforced hibernation. Building works have been put on hold at Lammas when freezing weather conditions hit the site. Such conditions have not been experienced in this part of the world for many years and can be seen as a growing trend towards more severe winters in the UK due to Climate Change.

Climate Change is one of the driving forces behind the Lammas project. Low impact living seeks to reduce carbon emissions by building with natural, locally sourced materials; using renewable energy sources; growing their own food and cutting consumption.

Once the snow and ice pass works will begin again at Lammas. Some residents are focusing on tree planting, others on landscaping and others on building.
